American singer Tyka Nelson, Prince’s younger sister, died last Monday in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, her son President Nelson told The Associated Press. She was 64 years old.

A hit album in 1988

About her relationship with her brother, she said: “People often ask me what it’s like to be Prince’s sister. But they don’t realize that I’ve been his sister since I was born!”

Tyka Nelson had inherited Prince’s musical rights equally with his five brothers and sisters. Along with her brothers Baker and Jackson, she had recently sold her shares to the company Primary Wave , LLC.
