Like Venice which, between 1600 and 1750, was a very important center for the development of music in Europe. “With composers such as Monteverdi, considered the father of Baroque opera and a great composer of sacred music, Gabrieli, Cavalli, then Albinoni and Vivaldi who is undoubtedly the most famous of Venetian composers, the city saw the emergence of opera, the development of sacred and secular music”, says René Martin, artistic director of the classical music festival.
