Because they passionately love music, Alina Barrouillet, pianist, and Franck Grimaud, tenor of the Pianisténor association, regularly perform in concerts. They wanted to address an audience specifically of children and created, from scratch, a show intended for young audiences, to introduce the lyrical voice, the works dedicated to it, and to restore it in a natural way without the need for sound amplification.

A great bet which led Franck Grimaud to write a musical tale, which uses operatic arias, from Mozart’s Queen of the Night to the arias of Carmen with a nod to Luis Mariano: Monsieur Gropéra lives in the forest, he is ugly, bored and feels very alone, his only pleasure is to sing, but he sings out of tune! His meeting with the Sugar Plum Fairy will change his life: with the help of the children of the forest who will sing the magic formula with her (the tune of Carmen “the rising guard”) he will be able to become beautiful, sing in tune, become rich and a superhero, a toreador.

Natalia Beigbeder, from the Hipotengo Company who knows a thing or two about great stories, since she is also a reader, is the director.

After a period of residence at the Pouzac village hall and a performance in front of an audience of adults, the artists will refine their show and present it to school children, meeting them for an introduction to music, composers, lyrical voice, and therefore at the opera!
