A crazy success and a Tête d’Or park stormed in Lyon for the Festival of Lights 2023 last December. The site in the 6th arrondissement, which hosted several illuminations like every year for the famous Lyon festival, was stormed during the last edition, causing disappointment and criticism of the organization of the flows.

A difficulty recognized by the mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet a few days later.

For the 2024 edition, the municipality has decided to review the organization of the park which will host several works which promise to be popular.

A new main entrance and queue in the park

The mayor of Lyon announced the changes for the Tête d’Or park during the presentation of the 2024 program. For this edition which takes place from December 5 to 8the main entrance to the Tête d’Or park will be moved.

THE visitors will be able to arrive at the Tête d’Or entrance located along the boulevard des Belges instead of that of the Porte des Enfants du Rhône.

“Last year, there was very, very strong enthusiasm for the works in the park. This year, based on this experience, we decided to modify the waiting time very slightly because we know there will be people. THE waiting time will be inside the park to ensure the safety of everyone already with a discovery of work,” explained the mayor during a press briefing.

The entrance to the Porte des Enfants du Rhône will be reserved for people with reduced mobility, said first assistant Audrey Hénocque.

“Plastic Island” in the rose garden fountain should challenge the curious on the subject of plastic pollution, “Winter Blossom” will transform vegetated beds into luminous plants in the paths of the park, “Reflexion Color” will be a work of lasers and light shows on the large lawn facing the lake and finally “Solar dust” will allow you to admire a luminous cloud of dust on a large metal structure.

Parc Tête d’Or: open all 4 evenings, doors close at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; 9 p.m. Sunday.
Please note, the illuminations will end 1 hour before: at 11:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. respectively.
