Crossed perspectives between Palermo and Montpellier at the House of International Relations

Visual artist Claudia Montanari and her son, with journalist Frédéric Mayet, exhibit their photos. Some from Palermo where they stayed for a week, the other from , his city.

Since 2016, Montpellier and Palermo in Sicily have been twinned. A photographic exhibition allows you to explore these two cities with Mediterranean roots by injecting a dose of subjectivity. For the Sicilian part, there is the visual artist Claudia Montanari and her son Raphaël Grillet who explored the city in February 2023 for a week. A whirlwind stay, but some 80 photos taken around the streets, squares, and monuments and a very clear feeling for Claudia Montanari: “wherever you go, you find your origins”.

The Montpellier part is taken care of by Frédéric Mayet. Currently head of the Midi Libre agency in , but for a long time editor in Montpellier, the journalist has never stopped taking photos of his city. He delivers here “a personal chronicle” from Montpellier.

Until Thursday November 14. House of International Relations, 14 rue Descente en Barrat, Montpellier. FREE ENTRANCE.
