Tuesday November 5, the City of Lyon unveiled the complete program for the 25th edition of the Festival of Lights which will take place from December 5 to 8.
For the 25th anniversary of the Festival of Lights, the City of Lyon saw things big, between new products and the return of significant works. The entire program for this 2024 edition was revealed this Tuesday, November 5 by the City of Lyon.

32 works exhibited
Installed mainly in the city center, the Tête d’Or park (6th arr.) or the Blandan park (7th arr.), there are a total of 32 works that visitors will be able to admire on 28 sites next month. In the city center of Lyon, visitors will be able to (re)discover New wave by Zouhourr Saoud, Jesus Baptista and Dirk Rauscher, at Saint-Paul station, Mother by Julian Hölscher will be projected on the facade of Saint-Jean Cathedral, Not for sale from LNLO, place du Change, Heaven #horizon24 by Jerome Donna, I Love Lyon by Jacques Rival on Place Bellecour, The child of light of Lightning Hope on the quai de Saône (formerly on the hill of Fourvière), Dimension of light by Javier Riera at the Théâtre des Célestins. Still on the Place des Célestins, visitors will also be able to discover Flux by Collective Scale.
Place des Jacobins, the work of Patrice Warrener, Jacobins Act 4 will be installed. On the Place de la République, we will find Coral Ghosts by Philipp Frank, a device that warns of the disappearance of the seascape. Nearby, rue de la République, Winter Walk of Faniuolo will also be installed. The work Metalia sound system by Kaïs Dhifi will be visible in the Grolée district. Place de la Bourse, the work Celestial Brainstormwork on mental disorders and hidden disabilities, by Amelia Kosminsky can be discovered. The Fourvière basilica will see the work Fourvière in voice Dreamlighters / BK projected on its facade.
The Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication will host the work A light here by the artist Virginia Woolf. Place des Terreaux will host The return of the little giant des Allumeurs d’Images and Place Louis Pradel the work Brain Dance by Romain Tardy. Near the Town Hall will be projected Interleaved circuits by Kenia Almaraz Murilloz and Elliott Causse. The device of Student experiments des Grands Ateliers will be exhibited on the Saint-Nizier and Albon squares and on the Quai Saint-Antoine. The Manufacture des Tabacs will host the work La Manu makes his cinema d’Inenscity.

The new features of this 2024 edition
For the first time, the Henri Malatre automobile museum in La Rochetaillée-sur-Saône will host a work: Post Idols of Pitaya. This will also be the case for the Auditorium de Lyon with the work Outside by Nacelle Aïneche and Pia Vidal, from December 5 to 7, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., then December 8 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. On the Quai Saint-Antoine side, visitors will be able to marvel at (De)constructfrom the Young Franco-German Creation platform.
As in La Duchère in 2023, two new districts of Lyon will be highlighted: La Croix-Rousse with the work Light for all by Gerard Torres on the Gros Caillou esplanade (4th arr.), as well as the Cité Jardin de Gerland (7th arr.) with the work The city as a home. 2,000 flowers will be on display, some of which were created by local residents during workshops offered by partners.
At Tête d’Or Park and Sergent Blandant Park
This year again, the Tête d’Or park will be at the center of this Festival of Lights. Five works will be offered to visitors: the Anooki from Inook, Plastic Island from Luzinterruptus, Color reflections by Antoni Arola, Solar dust by Quiet Ensemble and Winter Blossom by Darkitects. At Sergent Blandan Park, children will be the heart of the party with the Boom of lightsunder the artistic direction of Scenitz.
The Lumignons du Coeur will be back again this year on Place Satonnay. Alynea – Samu Social 69 will benefit from the operation. All the funds raised will make it possible to rehabilitate 50 homes.
