Among the notable positive developments, “Messa” (Brussels) by chef Christophe Hardiquest enters the 17/20 club, just like “Kitchens, 33” (Knokke-Heist) et “Colette” (Averbode). “Sir Quinten”, “Maxime’s table” et “spoils” are also approaching the summit of Belgian gastronomy with scores of 17.5 and finally, the “Hof van Cleve”covered by Floris Van Der Veken, obtains an 18/20.

In addition to the new ratings, the yellow guide awarded a host of prizes ranging from the most beautiful terrace to the best dessert. He also highlighted the future of gourmet cuisine, highlighting the work of young chefs, including Elliott Van de Velde of “Entropy” (Brussels), François-Xavier Simon de “Bistrot Blaise” (Marche-en-Famenne) and Alex Verhoeven from “Hert” in Turnhout.
The restaurant “The Red Angel”in Sint-Truiden, was named best Italian restaurant in Belgium, while “Maïnoï”in Braine-l’Alleud, received the same recognition for Asian cuisine.
Among the most dazzling entries in the Gault&Millau rankings, we find for Flanders “High”in Ostend (15.5/20), the Ixelles restaurant “Quartz” (14/20) et “The Beautiful Shore by Curtis”to Dave (14/20).
The sommelier of the year is that of the Mons restaurant “Les Gribaumonts”Nicolas Campus.
