The artist Sylvie Ometz wanted to get closer to her son living in Passage-d’.

“I found in Pont-du-Casse, not only a property that allowed me to set up my workshop, but also an excellent welcome from the municipality and my neighborhood,” immediately confides the internationally renowned artist.

Sylvie Ometz has exhibited, in fact, in many very prestigious places: Davioud pavilion (Luxembourg garden), Princely Palace of Monaco, stained glass museum in Curzay-sur-Vonne, Grand Palais… She has won numerous prizes in , in Belgium, Italy…

Free creations or to order

It all started in 2013 with training in to learn the subtleties of his profession, including the grisaille technique. Perfectly mastering the ancestral gestures and knowledge of stained glass, Sylvie Ometz has deliberately chosen a very contemporary path to express herself. “I can create to order the most classic subjects which will decorate doors or windows and, at the same time, I create shapes which are inspired, for example, by the musical world to include my backlit stained glass windows. » Creations of all sizes whose originality of shapes and liveliness of colors are all sublime decorative assets.

A showroom workshop open by appointment

Located a stone’s throw from the city center of Pont-du-Casse at 3, rue du Corps-Franc-Pommiès, the workshop of the Cassipontine stained glass artist is worth visiting. In this perfectly arranged lair, among the plates of multicolored glass and tools specific to their work, sit completed works (some of which are monumental) and others in the process of being finished. “My dream would be to now be able to pass on my know-how. I have enough space to accommodate student stained glass workers. »
