A cultural autumn continues for young people in the region by Magali Birat, Culture and Heritage coordinator!
Magali Birat, Culture and Heritage coordinator of Fumel Vallée du Lot, has concocted a “high in culture” autumn for children, in collaboration with community agents. This program includes four shows for the end of the year, the second of which was held on October 18 at the Paul Mauvezin Cultural Center.
The show presented to the young students was a wonderful musical tale by the artist, Ladylike Lily (Ouch Prod), “The Forgotten Seeds”. It tells the adventure of a little girl who leaves her hometown to save her sick mother because she learns that a witch knows how to heal using plants. Will she be able to cure Lily’s mother?
It is an immersive, captivating show, combining storytelling, live music, puppets, shadows and vegetable inks. Ladylike Lily invites you to travel through the paintings. Both storyteller and puppeteer, the musician sings a very current and magnificently dreamlike tale. Shadow and watercolor theater allows the discovery of the world of creation and the stage space: “imagine, create and tell the story of theater and Chinese shadows”.
The objectives for young people: identify with their creation, collaborate with their classmates, work together, develop their imagination, etc. Léa Dingreville intervened as a plastic arts teacher at the intercommunal School of Arts.
More than 400 children, from kindergarten to CM2, from all over the region, enthusiastically attended this 50-minute musical show. Their laughter, exclamations and warm applause demonstrated their enjoyment throughout the performance and afterward.
