The series Worship from Prime Video goes behind the scenes of the first reality TV broadcast in France. The former candidate wants to reestablish the truth about his experience in “C l'hebdo” beyond the fiction produced under the supervision of Alexia Laroche-Joubert.
What is true and false? The series Worship from Prime Video created the phenomenon by telling, through the prism of fiction, behind the scenes of the first reality TV broadcast in France, “Loft Story”. The famous swimming pool scene is now part of small screen history.
“First of all, we have to put everything back in its place. We never made love in this pool”intervenes Jean-Edouard Lipa in “C l’hebdo”. The former loft owner is invited, just like his roommate at the time Steevy Boulay and the editor-in-chief of “Loft Story” Angela Lorente, this Saturday, November 2 on the France 5 talk show.

“What you’re doing is still pretty hot, it’s at least the start of something”insists Aurélie Casse. “Me, I rather have the impression of suffering there, but with a certain pleasure. But in this case, we are kissing and nothing is happening. Something happened afterwards”confirms Jean-Edouard.
The first reality TV in France
In the spring of 2001, reality TV had not yet invaded the program schedule. The first adventurers of “Koh-Lanta” will end up on TF1 only a few weeks later. The first class of “Star Academy” will inaugurate its castle in October of the same year. Julien Tanti's “fratés” will only arrive on W9 in 2012.
“Loft Story” first opened the way to the celebration of illustrious unknowns by the public who recognize themselves in the different profiles of the candidates. The latter, locked up, are not yet aware of their impact. 'The pool scene wasn't supposed to be filmed'specifies Jean-Edouard, “because we were assured that this type of image would not be broadcast”. However, the live broadcast on TPS made it possible to archive these preliminaries.
Spontaneity
In the series, the character of Alexia Laroche-Joubert, played by the fantastic Anaïde Rozam, voluntarily provides alcohol to the candidates to encourage connections and hope to obtain the sequence that will make her new program take off. A version confirmed by the former candidate: “the production had given us a lot of alcohol because it had been three days since we entered”.
Angela Lorente would like to correct: “there was nothing scripted”. Contrary to what is told in the Prime Video series, “the series is the series”. “They came to have an experience, they did not come to be famous”she adds to justify the spontaneity that Loana, Jean-Edouard and the others demonstrated throughout their confinement and also in the water of the swimming pool.
