The former deputy head of the political service left the news channel this Wednesday, October 29 in the evening, with an emotional speech to greet his colleagues and his superiors.
While the banner at the bottom of the screen displays “Goodbye and thank you Thomas Soulié”journalist Benjamin Duhamel asks the person concerned if this show is really his last on BFMTV. “Last set, with a lot of emotion”replied Thomas Soulié. “I've been working here for nine, ten years, (…) and to leave you, Benjamin, or to leave you, since we can speak informally now… You are a good person, I truly, deeply loved working with you.”
His voice full of emotion, the former deputy head of the political department of BFMTV then greeted “the leaders who trusted him” and the teams that surrounded him. “At a time when nuance is poorly accepted, where facts and opinion mix, I find that BFMTV has a particular function of public utility”he analyzes. “I wish Jean-Philippe Baille and Fabien Namias (the new directors of the channel, Editor’s note) a lot of luck, a lot of success, this channel deserves it.”

Thomas Soulié also admits that he “leaves with a heavy heart for other adventures”. It will bounce back Parisian – Today in France. “I will watch you from afar, we will see you behind the scenes, and I also salute the political department of BFMTV which is truly incredible,” he declares before once again assuring that working with Benjamin Duhamel was “an immense pleasure” and to wish him a good career.
After Thomas Soulié has said his goodbyes, Benjamin Duhamel greets him in turn. “You are a wonderful journalist, we will miss you very much. One departure among many
The former deputy head of the political department on the news channel is one of the numerous departures which followed the takeover of the BFMTV and RMC channels by Rodolphe Saadé's group, CMA CGM. At the management level, Hervé Béroud and Marc-Olivier Fogiel bid farewell to the channel, replaced respectively by Jean-Philippe Baille and Fabien Namias, former boss of the competing channel LCI. The interim CEO of the BFMTV – RMC group is currently Nicolas de Tavernost, former boss of M6.
In the ranks of journalists, a certain number followed the movement.
