Nantes: what to expect for Pride Month

Purple, blue, green, yellow, orange or even red… The streets of the city of dukes will be colorful for this pride month!

Throughout the month of Junethe city of Nantes celebrates LGBTQIA+ people, as part of its non-sexist city policyto fight against all forms of discrimination.

Renewal of previous projects

Since May 29 and until June 10, the streets will be decorated with kakémonos, vertical posters, in rainbow colors. They will be located at Cours des 50 otages, and rue de Strasbourg.

Throughout the month of June, room for initiative “Pride on the balconies”. Created during the COVID-19 crisis, it invites Nantes residents to display LGBTQIA+ flags on balconies and store fronts.

The water mirror also reflects the colors of the rainbow, from June 2 to 9, then from June 15 to 23.

Special programming at the municipal library

Throughout Pride Month, the Nantes municipal library offers programming to celebrate diversity: a queer writing workshop, a show about gender stereotypesreadings of stories by dragkings and dragqueens… A selection of works on gender and the rights of LGBTQIA+ people will also be offered.

The pride march organized by Nosig

On June 8, the famous pride march will take place. The theme ? The right of intersex people to control their bodies.

She will start at 11 o’clock with the opening of an associative village, Cours Saint-André, including a Nantes Town Hall stand, a bookstore or a “make-up/degendering” center.

At 2:30 p.m., and following the speech by socialist Mayor Johanna Rolland, the tanks will come to announce the start of the three-hour march, Place Foch.

This event will be organized and coordinated by the LGBTQIA+ Nosig center, with a collective of volunteers and associations.

The 20th edition of CinéPride

From June 18 to 23, 2024, CinéPride will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its festival. The objective: to make LGBTQIA+ cinema accessible to all through screening of around twenty films at the Katorza cinemaa choice of international and diverse works on this theme, the presence of directors or actors…

A new tram

On line 2, a tram was flocked in rainbow colors from June 1st until the 17th.
