His new tour has 29 dates in the provinces and passes through Narbonne. Laurent Gerra is back on stage. And then in Narbonne, where the meeting is set for Friday June 7, at the Arena. “I received a warm welcome in Narbonne, I have very good memories of it, very pleasant”remembers the artist, who had not been back on stage for about two years. “Two years is way too long. Of course, I’ve been busy between radio and filming, but I missed the stage, I had ants in my legsadmits Laurent Gerra. The stage is my life and I’m really happy to be back on the road.” The imitator and comedian with a career spanning more than 30 years did it again on May 18 in Annecy, with his new show “Laurent Gerra sits at the table”. The stage transforms into a restaurant kitchen, where this epicurean from Lyon, owner of four restaurants, serves his sketches and musical pieces according to “new recipes”in a show “not very vegan and wokist”. But always with the same signature dishes. “There are many similarities between catering and my profession. The common denominator is to please, to give pleasure, notes Laurent Gerra. The table is about pleasure and sharing, where important decisions can be made.”

“A music hall show”

And table-wise, the artist was spoiled. “In over 30 years of touring, I’ve had the opportunity to go to some great places.” Culinary experiences that he strives to recreate on stage, in his own style. With around sixty voices, including two new ones (Pascal Praud and Xavier Demoulins), Laurent Gerra addresses multiple and varied themes, for all tastes: wokism, feminism, cooking, rap, politics, ecologists, television etc. Accompanied by five musicians, he also sings a lot of French songs. “The music is an integral part of the show, a music hall show”, he assures. 33 pieces on the menu including Johnny which he loved very much. A whole program, played in a playful tone. Because when Laurent Gerra sits down at the table, he admits: “I go on stage to be able to make fun of my time. It’s like an outlet, but I don’t pretend to deliver messages or give lessons.” The stage mainly serves him to meet his audience and share a good time with them. “I try to pass on to him the passion that I have devoted to this profession for more than 30 years and to give him as much pleasure as possible,” concludes Laurent Gerra. A pleasure that the Arena public will be able to enjoy on June 7.
