Pots, vases, mirrors, mobiles, trays, lamps, jewelry… the Carré Saint-Cyr du Vaudreuil reunites once again excellence in artistic craftsmanship. Twelve artisans showcase their works using various techniques gathered around the shine theme.

“The starting point of the exhibition is the golden touch,” explains Marie-Laure Letellier, curator of the exhibition, who, through her meetings and visits to arts and crafts fairs, detected this shine, these little gilding common between several craftsmen. “It’s a theme that fits well with the end of the year and the approach of the Christmas holidays,” she continues.

Gold as a red thread

Sometimes discreet, barely perceptible on certain pieces, sometimes more dominant but never crude, the touches of gilding adorn all the works of “Comme un brilliance”.

Marie Barthès’ mirrors bring a touch of shine to her leather sculptures; light gilding gives a shine to Stéphanie Bertholon’s porcelain pottery; Sylvie Capelino’s lamps appear like metal lace; Inès Carratié creates embroideries with ink and gold touches; the various types of wood from Landry Clément are inlaid with a golden ring; Sibylle Flouret makes jewelry in metal and brass; Ludivine Loursel creates pieces in metal and glass; Floriane Schmitt’s fashion accessories in fabric are inlaid with gilding; the golden touch of Noëlla Staylor’s porcelain indicates the artist’s trademark; embroiderer of metal and glass beads, Aurore Thuault adds some luminous gilding to her works and Juliette Vivien offers ceramics embellished with porcelain and a barely perceptible touch of gold.

Finally, Chrystel Sadde, who created, in her words, a “construction” for the Carré Saint-Cyr, surprises with the lightness of her works: mobiles in brass and gilded steel, suspended, rotating, capturing and reflecting the light.
