the essential
For two days, art outside and on the walls reigned over the village.

Friday morning, Place de l’Éperon, while residents were doing their market, artists scattered here and there were sketching everyday places and people, transforming the markets into an artistic scene.

School students participated with artists Nadia Vernier and StelH. At 11 a.m., the French variety musical interlude was appreciated, as well as the friendly aperitif offered by the town hall at 12 p.m. At 7 p.m., at the MJC, the opening of the exhibition was also punctuated by a musical interlude, then the artists of the morning received their prizes.

Painting without a brush

On Saturday from 10 a.m., a village of artists – a dozen, local, or from further afield – set up on the square, under marquees. There was a wide variety of paintings, photographs, and various works there, which the public came to admire, especially in the morning, then at the end of the day. Many children took part in a pouring workshop and enjoyed painting without a brush. Hands, sticks, sponges, crumpled paper, a fork, fingers, everything was an artist’s tool for a surprising result. Each child, beyond the pleasure of creating, was able to create a work that was then taken home.

Between the artistic creation workshops (Clotilde Delecroix), break dancing, concert by the MJC Vocal Song choir, MJC batucadas at the end of the afternoon, several artistic forms were shared and delighted people. After the friendly 6 p.m. aperitif offered by Unis Garonne (merchants), a concert by the group Moon, electroacoustic, French and English songs, closed the evening.

The next morning, at the MJC, the History Group gave a conference on the Clock Tower, the city’s emblematic building, and its history. Architecture and ancient history are also an art!

This event was organized by the MJC, the collective L’Art Otherwise, Terre de jeux 24, Unis Garonne, the Association of Full Wind Traders and the Association of Midi-Pyrénées Artists, with the support of the municipality.
