At 5:30 p.m., this Saturday, May 25, while some 60,000 spectators were preparing to enter the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille, where a Brice Springsteen concert was to be held this evening, several members of security marched through the rows to signify that the show was canceled.

The decision would have been taken due to the loss of the rocker’s voice, according to journalists fromWest France on the spot. “Due to a loss of voice and on medical orders, Bruce Springsteen is unable to sing and perform this evening. This evening’s concert planned at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille has unfortunately been postponed to a later date. immediately indicated Gérard Drouot Productions, on X.

“I burst into tears”

Among the many spectators, it was above all disappointment that reigned, around 6 p.m. “I’ve been listening to it for 40 years. I’ve been waiting for it for 40 years. I discovered it in 1976, since then I have listened to it daily. When I found out they were canceling the concert, I burst into tears,” explains Bernard, 61, resident of Aix-en-Provence.

At his side, his wife and his mother-in-law, also moved. “We have a thought for those who come from far away. In the queue, we spoke with a family from Nantes, who had taken three weeks of vacation to come see him.”
