Singer Cassie spoke out on social media a few days after posting a video from 2016 in which she is violently hit by her then-boyfriend, P. Diddy.

She is the one who courageously dared to oppose P. Diddy. Singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against the rapper in November 2023, detailing in horror the abuse she suffered during her years of relationship with him. Drugs, rape, violence, threats, psychological control… the artist detailed in his complaint what many knew but the extent of which they kept silent. If she ended up reaching a financial agreement with the producer, who clarified that this was not confirmation of her confession and categorically denied the facts, a video published last week by CNN confirmed the accusations of the young woman.

Filmed by hotel surveillance cameras, she is seen fleeing the room she shared with Sean Combs, his real name, while he runs after her in a bath towel. The images are then terrifying as she is beaten, knocked to the ground and then pulled by her hair. According to Cassie, who recounted this attack in her complaint, P. Diddy paid the hotel $50,000 to make the evidence disappear. But the video eventually resurfaced and Diddy had no choice but to explain himself on Instagram and apologize.

Silent until then, Cassie spoke out Thursday May 23 in a statement: “Thank you all for your love and support. The outpouring of love I receive gives the younger me a calm place where I can feel safe. But this is only the beginning. Domestic violence is THE problem. It broke me to the point where I became a person I never thought I would be. With a lot of work, I am better today, but I should still heal from my past. […] The only thing I ask is that people believe the victims from the beginning. It takes a lot of courage to speak out the truth and get out of a situation you had no control over. I extend my hand to people who live in fear. Ask for help from the people around you, don’t make them disappear from your life. No one should carry this weight alone.”

Two new complaints against the rapper

Alex Fine, the singer’s husband with whom she had two children, also published a long letter for victims of domestic violence. The sports coach, who met the young woman after being hired by P. Diddy himself, allegedly helped her escape the clutches of her tormentor. “Men who hit women are not men. Men protect these kinds of people are not men. Male violence against women should not be inevitable, watch your brothers, friends and family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers and wives should feel protected and loved,” he wrote.

The noose tightens around P. Diddy. After Cassie’s complaint, four other people (three women and a man) accused the rapper of similar acts, namely sexual assault, rape or threats. On Tuesday, a sixth woman also filed a complaint against him for an alleged sexual assault that occurred in 2003. On Thursday, a seventh accusation was added

In April Lampros’ filing in New York County Supreme Court, obtained by USA TODAY, she claims she met the music mogul in 1994, while she was a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. He would have seduced her with compliments, gifts and flowers before putting her under his influence in a relationship based on sex. She mentions in particular a rape in 1995 then another a year later when Diddy allegedly forced the young woman and his girlfriend at the time Kim Porter (died in 2018 and with whom he had four children) to take ecstasy and have sex together. April Lampros also alleges that Combs assaulted her in his apartment in 2000 or 2001.

Apart from his video confession on Instagram concerning the assault on Cassie in 2016, P. Diddy denies all the facts with which he is accused. In March, a police raid took place at his residences in Miami and Los Angeles.
