The Van Gogh, The Last Journeys exhibition resumes Saturday October 19

It was a success. From October 7, 2023 until September 29, 2024, no less than 50,000 visitors went to the Château d’Auvers-sur-Oise to discover the exhibition Van Gogh, the last journeys.

Extended exhibition

Produced under the direction of Wouter van der Veen, curator of the exhibition and Vincent Van Gogh specialist, this exhibition retraces the last four years of the Dutch painter through numerous masterpieces.

Taking note of this great success, the Val-d’Oise Departmental Council, owner of the castle, has decided to extend the event for one year, from October 19 to November 2, 2025.

Second part

Three weeks of work were necessary to prepare the second part of the exhibition. During this period, the castle remained closed to the public. It will welcome visitors again on Saturday October 19.

“The exhibition retains the existing scenography, but is enriched with around thirty new works, including, The Stormby Georges Michel, a landscape by Adolphe Monticelli, or the Portrait of Madame Veuve Roumyby Ary Scheffer, on loan from the Senlis museum (Oise). The focus will be on Léonide Bourges, student of Charles-François Daubigny,” indicates the Château d’Auvers on its website.

A guided tour of the exhibition by candlelight will take place on Saturday October 26, at 6 p.m. Reservations will open soon. The next guided tour will be held on Sunday October 20, at 11 a.m. Prices: €15 and €9 (7 to 17 years old), free for under 7s. Online reservation is strongly recommended.

Exhibition Van Gogh, the last journeys, at the Château d’Auvers, chemin des Berthelées, in Auvers-sur-Oise. Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission: €12 and €7.5 (reduced).
