Dune: Prophecy (Max) – An exhilarating trailer for the HBO prequel series

Would you like some more spice? After a first little teaser last May, Dune : Prophecy finally dispels some of the mystery surrounding it.

The HBO series has just offered its impatient fans a first and exciting trailer, at the same time as a precise and official release date on the Max streaming platform.

When Dune encounter Succession

Ten millennia before the events of Denis Villeneuve’s films and Paul Atréides’ story, Dune : Prophecy promises to dig a little deeper into the mythology and the universe created by the novelist Frank Herbert in his books.

The series chronicles the political machinations of sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen, whose mystical power lays the foundation for the Bene Gesserit, the sisterhood that will play such an important role in the fate of the planet Arrakis.

Dune : Prophecy is adapted from The Community of Sistersa novel by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson published in 2012, which fits into the universe introduced by Frank Herbert in 1965 with the first cult novel.

This prequel series has had a complicated gestation since Warner has had it in the pipeline since 2019. Production was disrupted, among other things, by the pandemic, Hollywood strikes, but also internal problems and the departure of several people from the project .

Dune : Prophecy is co-created by Diane Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor) et Alison Schapker (Westworld), who is the showrunner. We find Anna Foerster (Outlander) directing, and all three are also executive producers of the series.

It is made up of six episodes, the first three of which are entitled The Hidden Hand, Two Wolves et Sisterhood Above All. They are produced in particular by Anna Foerster (Outlander), John Cameron (Fargo) et Richard J. Lewis (Westworld).

The cast is also supported by recognized actors and actresses like Emily Watson (Chernobyl), Olivia Williams (The Crown), Jodhi May (The Witcher), Travis Fimmel (Vikings) or Mark Strong (Kingsman).
