2025 is shaping up to be an “Amazing” year for behind Sonerien Bro Dreger of Perros-Guirecco-chaired by Sarah Nollet and Lenaïck Le Jannou Lebrun.
After the general assembly this Saturday, October 12, rehearsals will resume very quickly to prepare for the first round of the 1st category bagadoubli championship, which will take place on February 9 in Brest.
Six days in New York
But the long-awaited moment is the participation of the bagad in the St. Patrick’s Day paradek, March 17, 2025 at New York, on 5th Avenue, at the invitation of the BZH New York association.
We are leaving with 48 musicians and will be present on site for six days. Plane tickets and accommodation have already been booked.
This project is supported by several local partners, companies, individuals, but above all by the town hall of Perros-Guirec. “We warmly thank the municipality for supporting us in this big and crazy project. »
BZH NY at work
It all started on February 19, 2024, when the Bagad Sonerien Bro Dreger appeared in 30m x 20m on giant screen in Times Square. The BSBD had decided to announce its participation in the 2024 first category Bagadou national championship in an original way.
“It was an article about a French restaurateur who had 15 seconds of advertising on this giant screen that made us want to do the same. 15 seconds at 40 dollars for such visibility, we said to ourselves: let’s try, let’s go for it! », explained François Le Gall, bell ringer.
The buzz attracted the attention of BZH NY, the association of Bretons of New York, who made contact with the bagad.
The first bagad of Côtes-d’Armor
On May 1, the BSBD was officially invited by the 2025 NYC Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.
“The last formation that went there was the bagad of Lorient, in 2017. The BSBD will therefore cross the Atlantic and become the first bagad from Côtes-d’Armor to play on 5th Avenue in New York,” explained Gwendal Le Bras, penn ringer.
Brittany in front of 2 million people
The appointment is set for March 17, 2025 for this 264th edition of the paradewhich sees 200,000 people parade down 5th Avenue, in front of two million spectators and tens of millions of viewers.
