Florent Pagny is committed to a very good cause. The singer, still suffering from lung cancer, announced in an interview with Parisian having recently recorded with Cali a new song in support of Paul Watson, the founder of Sea Shepherd imprisoned in Greenland since last July and under an international arrest warrant issued by Japan.

“If we don’t do something for him, humanity will have problems”

“The cause is good, the guy is in a trap,” assured the interpreter of Know how to love. “If with my little voice I can be useful, I do it. I rarely get involved, because I’m not an activist, I don’t do politics,” he added. “This guy , he has been fighting since the 1970s to defend the whales. If we don’t do something for him, humanity will have problems.

It was Francis Lalanne, who went to Greenland to support Paul Watson, who composed and wrote the lyrics of this song. “I never subscribed to his delusions,” Florent Pagny insisted, referring to the artist’s controversial declarations on Covid, or even his proximity to Dieudonné. “But I’ve known him for thirty-five years and when he sends me this song, I ignore all that.” Florent Pagny is indeed a great nature lover and loves watching whales from his haven of peace in Patagonia. “Frankly, I have the same feeling when you put a bullet in a deer, a peaceful animal,” he confided about the massacre of whales, still hunted by the Japanese.

According to information from Parisianother singers should join the project, notably Anne Sila, Arielle Dombasle, David Hallyday, Manu Lanvin, Yannick Noah and Véronique Sanson. Francis Lalanne’s objective being to raise awareness as Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie did in the 1980s with their anthem against famine in Ethiopia, We Are The World, sung by 47 stars.
