Bursts of laughter for the opening of Festi Plume 2024

Friday October 11, the small town of Thonnance-lès-Joinville hosted the first evening of the now renowned “Festi Plume”, formerly the Green Plume Festival. The start of this 2024 edition was marked by the performance of “C’est pas la fête du slip”, a crazy comedy performed by Maxime Collier and Houari Bessadet from the Cirta de Langres company. This wacky play, directed by Hakim Maraoui, plunged spectators into the eventful life of Raoul, an eccentric bachelor accustomed to hanging out his underwear in the square of the fictional village of Mirabelle-le-Haut, to the great dismay of Lucien, the mayor, who wants to make a good impression for the competition for “Most beautiful village in ”.

The plot, full of twists and turns and misunderstandings, delighted the spectators, especially since some of them were invited to participate. Two courageous designated volunteers joined the actors on stage, adding to the friendly and interactive atmosphere of the evening. Although the room was not full for this first performance, those present praised the colorful performance of the actors, whose infectious energy hit the mark. The show was also punctuated with songs and music, adding to the joyful atmosphere.

An event since 1991

Before the start of the play, Michel Fournier, president of the organizing association, spoke to recall the importance of this event, anchored in local cultural life since 1991. With emotion, he spoke of the 30 years of work volunteer and the loyalty of some 30,000 spectators who have paraded over the years. He also expressed his concerns about the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic which has kept some spectators away from theaters. Nevertheless, he was optimistic, hoping that this enthusiasm for local culture will continue for decades to come. Bertrand Ollivier, mayor of Joinville, humorously launched the idea of organizing a “Underpants Festival” in Thonnance-lès-Joinville to decorate the village, which made the spectators laugh a lot. He also insisted on the importance of favoring local artists, emphasizing the cultural richness of the department. For his part, Alain Malingrey, mayor of Thonnance-lès-Joinville, welcomed this initiative, recalling the extent to which this festival is a festive and friendly event for his town.
