Toulouse: My Gallery brings together two Toulouse artists to discuss, between sacred geometry and urban graffiti

the essential
At My Gallery, Gauthier Genêt and Loïc Mondé present their unique works, mixing sacred geometry and urban graffiti, until October 26, 2024.

After the busts of Sébastien Langloÿs, Alexandra Bono has just inaugurated a new exhibition which explores another approach by presenting two artists who live and work in : Gauthier Genêt and Loïc Mondé.
Gauthier Genêt, born in 1980, comes from industrial design and it is not surprising to find in his works a quest for perfect form, balance, all converging towards the sublime. He is fascinated by sacred geometry and the plural beauty of nature and humans.

With precision, he transfigures bodies into an imaginary perception far from the canons of representation. A multidisciplinary artist, he evolves between dark and vertical masses, infinite anchor points in space, towards wire compositions unfolding the viewer’s gaze towards a fragmented and infinite dispersion. His latest exhibitions took place at the Montresso Foundation in Marrakech, at Urban Art Flair in , and at the Mozuku gallery in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Loïc Mondé, born in 1985, comes from the graffiti culture that he has practiced for more than 20 years in the streets of Toulouse. Thus, he appropriates the public space in order, in his own words, “to expose my name to everyone’s view” and thus create an encounter with the spectators. His work on canvas, which is partly exhibited in My Gallery, is a logical continuation of his art and the opportunity to pursue a more elaborate graphic quest. He concentrates his inspiration in the densest material possible: wood, metal, concrete. He recently participated in several group exhibitions, such as “GraffMe Lebanon” in Beirut, “Neo Muralis” in Tel Aviv, and at the Konstart gallery in Stockholm.

And today, to the delight of Toulouse residents from Chalets and elsewhere, they are at My Gallery in Toulouse until October 26, 2024.
