The continuation of Gladiator hasn’t even been released yet and its director is working on the third part. In an interview for Total MagazineRidley Scott claimed:
“I already have eight pages, I have the start of a very good draft”
News which confirms what he told the magazine at the end of September First when he said he was considering the idea: “I lit the fuse.”
The ending of Gladiator 2 evokes that of The Godfather, with Michael Corleone finding himself in a place he didn’t want and asking himself: “Now, Father, what do I do?” So the next [film] will be about a man who doesn’t want to be where he is.”

It took the British filmmaker more than 20 years to make Gladiator 2. At 85, Ridley Scott no longer really has the luxury of waiting two more decades. The third part is therefore in the pipeline.
Gladiator 2which will be released in cinemas on November 13 in Switzerland, tells the story of Lucius who we saw as a child in the first film. He is the son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix). He is played by Paul Mescal, known for his role in the mini-series Normal People and nominated in 2023 for an Oscar for best actor for After sun. We will also find Pedro Pascal, the Hollywood daddy, who plays Acacius, a fallen Roman general.
Denzel Washington joins the cast playing Dracinus, a wealthy merchant running a stable of gladiators. Other key characters include the duo of cruel emperors, Caracalla played by Fred Hechinger and Geta, played by series star Joseph Quinn Stranger Things.
