This weekend D23 took place in California, the ultimate event for Disney fans, here are the big announcements concerning future films and new features at Disneyland Paris.
We were able to see the first trailer for “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, which you can find here. This film will be released in March 2025. We also discovered a new trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King”, which will arrive in cinemas on December 18, 2024. Finally, to close this series of trailers, we have that of ” Moana 2“which will be released on November 27.
Concerning the films announced by Walt Disney Animation studios, we will have “Zootopia 2” in November 2025. In November 2027, we will discover the crazy adventures of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf in “Frozen III” . On the Pixar studios side, the film “Elio“ will be released on June 13, 2025, and “Hoppers” will be released in 2026. “Toy Story 5” will be released in June 2026 and to finish this Pixar part, “The Incredibles 3“ is in production but no release date has been announced at this time.
Now let’s move on to the live-action films, on December 19, 2025 we will return to Pandora to follow the third part of the “Avatar” franchise with the film “Avatar: Fire on Ash” and we will also have, in the summer of 2025, a movie about “Lilo and Stitch”. We will discover “Tron: Ares” on October 10, 2025 and we will also be able to discover “Freakier Friday in 2025.
Let’s head to the stars with “Star Wars” news. “The Mandalorian and Grogu” will be released on May 22, 2026.
To finish this cinematographic section, let’s discuss the news concerning the Marvel world since the next film “Captain America“ will be called “Brave New World” and will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025.
On Disney+, “Daredevil” will return in March 2025 with a season 2 already announced for this program.
What’s new at Disneyland Paris
From January 2025, Disneyland Paris will offer a new nighttime show which will integrate drones as well as projections on Main Street USA, as is already the case in California and Florida, with characters such as Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, Encanto or Buzz Lightyear.
From 2026, the Walt Disney Studios park will change its name to Disney Adventure World, because that year the new “World of Frozen” land will open. This new area will host a new nighttime show on Adventure Bay Lake in 2026, incorporating fountains and drones.
The last big announcement is the confirmation of the land on the theme of “Lion King”, whose franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, this new area will give way to a Splash attraction which will allow us to travel to the African savannah. We will find the emblematic characters of the universe, such as Simba, Pumbaa, Timon… in a setting of “Lion Rock”.
The attraction’s story will trace Simba’s childhood to his ascension to the throne, this area will also host character meet-and-greets, restaurants and shops.
