Following their performance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, the metal band Gojira will tour several cities in next year. On their Instagram account, they announced a concert date in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes).

A remarkable performance during the Olympics

They lit up the Conciergerie with Marina Viotti during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics, last Friday July 26. A moment that has become legendary during this exceptional event. The French metal group then announced that they would tour France next year.

“We have the immense pleasure of finally announcing a French tour worthy of the name! 13 exceptional dates throughout France (or almost…) We are going to pull out all the stops for an immersive and explosive experience,” announces the group in its publication.

In Nice on December 8, 2025

The musicians promise “a unique celebration” and “a tour that will be remembered”. They will perform in Nice, at the Palais Nikaïa, on December 8, 2025. Tickets are already available at online ticket offices. Prices start at 63 euros in the standing pit and 52 euros in the stands.

Originally from , the group was formed in 1996 and has released seven albums. Its four members, Joseph Duplantier (vocals and guitar); his brother Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar) and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass), played at the famous Hellfest Festival in 2022.

It is certain that their participation in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics marked a turning point in the group’s career.
