All week long, Cépinois artist Maxime Masquefa (Masquefa paintings) made a place for himself at the media library, several works of which were exhibited between the various book shelves. An exhibition composed of paintings – acrylic on canvas – where the artist navigates between realism and poetry while giving pride of place to feminine features.
The artist, present continuously, in the middle of a selection which gave an idea of the diversity of his sources of inspiration, but also of his assertive, original and non-committed style as he explains: “I am not not a committed artist. I think that the most important thing in painting is the interpretation that people make of it. All my inspiration is based on mythology and women. ’emotions’. Women, naked, coming straight from the mythology and imagination of Maxime Masquefa. So many mysteries that the works of this young artist designs in his workshop in Cépie and markets throughout the world thanks to a website.
Wednesday afternoon, Maxime led an intergenerational workshop which allowed participants to learn or improve their painting technique.
