ROYAL FAMILY – No time to see each other. Visiting the United Kingdom to celebrate ten years of the Invictus Games, Prince Harry will not see his father King Charles III, who is suffering from cancer. The two men failed to agree on their agendas, a spokesperson for the prince said on Tuesday, May 7, who spoke of an impossibility on the king’s side. .

“The meeting will unfortunately not be possible due to Her Majesty’s very busy schedule. The Duke of Sussex is of course aware of his father’s agenda, his commitments and his other priorities, and hopes to see him soon,” explained his advisor a few hours after Harry’s arrival in London.

He arrived in the British capital for a ceremony marking 10 years of the Invictus Games, an international competition for wounded soldiers, inevitably sparking rumors about a visit to his father. Because the Duke of Sussex has notoriously maintained difficult relations with the king and especially his brother, the heir to the crown William, since he slammed the door of the monarchy in 2020 to settle in California with his wife Meghan.

King Charles III is better

Since King Charles III made his cancer public, Harry came to see him once during a whirlwind trip in early February. The 75-year-old sovereign, still undergoing treatment, resumed his public activities at the very beginning of May, meeting the public, appearing smiling and shaking hands, but walking slowly.

Nine months after his coronation in May 2023, the palace announced in early February that Charles III was suffering from cancer, discovered after a prostate operation in January. His nature and state of progress were never specified, but the announcement of his illness was in itself a small revolution, breaking the silence surrounding the health of sovereigns until then.
