Caroline of Monaco dresses like her brother to celebrate a very special birthday

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Princess Grace Rose Garden, on Friday May 3, 2024, Caroline of Monaco chose to match her look to that of her brother Albert II. A remarkable appearance.

The Princess Grace Rose Garden is celebrating its 40th anniversary. For the occasion, Caroline of Monaco appeared alongside Prince Albert II, in a spring outfit matching that of her brother.

Caroline of Monaco, who poses in front of the green wall created in honor of this anniversary, wears an ecru midi dress and navy blue pumps from the Italian brand Fabrizio Viti. On top, she wore a blazer by Blazé Milano, decorated with golden buttons and a flower brooch. A silhouette in the same tones as that of his brother, who, for his part, opted for a patterned tie and a light blue shirt.

She is one of those who has the power to light up a room just by entering it. With an innate presence inherited from her mother, actress Grace Kelly, Caroline de Monaco has seen her style evolve over the years. From his youth, we remember the chic and colorful seaside outfits. Today, the princess has evolved her silhouettes, now wearing more sober pieces, but no less original.

Follower of red carpets from a very young age, Caroline of Monaco now seems to have found the formula that suits her. She thus expresses her natural elegance through refined outfits, worthy of her princess status. Long dresses with pretty shiny details, but also pieces in more sober shades, ranging from black to deep blue. A subscriber to official events, she does not hesitate to wear, then postpone, certain dresses. This was particularly the case with a navy creation with tone-on-tone flowers from Chanel from the fall-winter 2015-2016 collection, which she donned for the first time at a charity gala in January 2016, then a second time, seven years later late, at 60th AMADE’s anniversary in October 2023. Wouldn’t that be true chic?

What does she wear in everyday life?

His daily life was once widely immortalized. Today, Caroline of Monaco is more rarely photographed outside of gala evenings. However, she is regularly seen on the balcony of the royal palace, dressed in timeless, colorful tweed ensembles and hats that could be described as extravagant. Her jewelry? Rather discreet, although sometimes exchanged for sets of diamonds and precious stones. To travel, the Monegasque opts for more casual but no less chic outfits: dark denim, a shirt, a sleeveless jacket and colorful ballet flats ensure style and comfort. For museum visits, she prefers flowing ensembles in neutral colors such as white and black, or both.

Which brands is the princess loyal to?

It’s difficult to talk about Caroline of Monaco’s favorite labels without mentioning her love for Chanel. Formerly very close to Karl Lagerfeld, the artistic director of the house from 1983 to 2019, she often appeared alongside him, during fashion shows, but also at charity galas. Today, she continues to accompany her daughters to the double C brand’s fashion shows, thus sharing her love for the creations of Virginie Viard, who took over after the death of the man nicknamed the “Kaiser”.

What did her wedding dresses look like?

Caroline of Monaco said “yes” not once, but three times. First to Philippe Junot, in 1978. At the town hall, she wore a fitted flowing dress, which she exchanged for a white dress embroidered with lace for the church. In 1983, three years after her separation from her first husband, she married Stefano Casiraghi, with whom she had three children. For the ceremony, she puts on a satin ivory dress and a bow in her hair. Finally, it was Ernest-Auguste de Hanover who put the ring on her finger in 1999. This time, she preferred an immaculate dress which revealed her shoulders and highlighted her elegant hairstyle.

The secret of Caroline of Monaco? Opt for classic cuts and focus on originality for materials and colors. Here are some tips for mimicking your look: prefer fluid to tight; don’t be afraid to dare with color; wear accessories that have sentimental value; and finally, take care of your beauty with rather light makeup.
