Selena Gomez doesn’t like to talk about money.

The 32-year-old actress recently reached billionaire status with her cosmetics company Rare Beauty but says it’s unpleasant to talk about financial matters.

She told Entertainment Tonight: “I’m very grateful. Personally, I think it’s unpleasant to talk about money. But I really give all the credit to the people who buy the products. They are the ones who made my dream come true. So I am very, very honored and happy. »

The star grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas, with a single mother in what she called a “really tough neighborhood.” In the past, Selena revealed that she didn’t have money to buy basic necessities growing up because her mother struggled to make ends meet.

She said: “I remember about seven times our car got stuck on the highway because we ran out of money for gas. My mother gave up everything for me and worked three jobs. I remember always being reminded that people had less than us, and that we didn’t have much. But I felt like we had something because my mom was always doing a million things to make me happy, and we were volunteering at soup kitchens at Thanksgiving. »
