Actor Renaud Roussel, character of Sacha in the TF1 series Tomorrow belongs to us, accompanied by photographer Sébastien Micke, explain the creation of a musical clip in the rubble of an apartment ravaged by a fire in Sète on January 24, 2024.

On January 24, a fire disrupted the life of Sébastien Micke, a renowned photographer and director, as well as that of his wife. This tragic event, which occurred in their apartment in Sète, could have cost them their lives and plunged them into a real descent into hell. However, thanks to their resilience and a significant meeting with Renaud Roussel, actor and singer, they transformed this ordeal into an artistic project powerful and a budding friendship.

“Renaud was my neighbor, but we didn’t really know each other before this incident”

“One night in January, a fire ravaged my apartmentsays Sébastien Micke. We almost died, my wife and I. Awakened by the flames at 6:30 a.m., we had to evacuate the apartment in an absolute emergency.” Sète by birth, Sébastien returned to Sète about a year ago, after living in Los Angeles. “Renaud was my neighbor, but we didn’t really know each other before this incident.”

However, this tragic event allowed Sébastien and Renaud to become closer. Renaud, known for his role as Sacha in the series Tomorrow belongs to usremembers: I found myself the last to leave the building adjoining the burning one where Sébastien lived. The firefighters yelled at me, I didn’t realize what was happening!

“This place carried an intense emotional charge, which perfectly corresponded to the theme of the song”

This common ordeal not only forged a friendship, but also gave birth to a strong idea: using the rubble of the burned apartment as a setting for the music video My Queen. “We filmed in the apartment ravaged by flamesexplains Renaud. This place carried an intense emotional charge, which perfectly suited the theme of the song, which is about loss and absence.”

Sébastien adds: “In life, when we go through ordeals like a fire, a death or a breakup, we often wonder why. We don’t always have the answer, but what we can do is transform this suffering into something positive. The best way to mourn this space, for us, was to bring this place back to life through Renaud’s project.”

Transform a tragedy into a positive event

Renaud concludes: “We didn’t know each other before this incident, but there was real chemistry between us. I am so grateful to Sébastien for his work on this video. He was able to capture the essence of the song and transform this tragedy into a powerful artistic moment.

The clip My Queensigned by Renaud Roussel’s group Reno and the Pheromones, was born from the ashes. It embodies a rebirth, a tribute to the strength of resilience and the importance of creating beauty even from the darkest moments of life.
