He was nominated twice for the Swiss Design Prize in 2014 and 2015: Dimitri Bähler was born in Moutier, grew up in Malleray and today lives in Bienne. After his studies at the Haute école d’art et de design de Lausanne and the Design Academy in Eindhoven, Dimitri opened his studio in 2014. The designer works with the biggest brands in the world. From discreet design workshops to luxury brands, Dimitri Bähler designs and conceptualizes all kinds of objects. He tells us about his journey and the origin of his passion for designing objects.
From the idea to marketing via drawing, Dimitri Bähler traces the evolution of his creations. Ideas which will, for some, end up on the shelves of a major Danish design brand, like a clothes hook, others which materialize in a catalog of a Swiss furniture brand… And finally ideas which will never be born .
This year, Dimitri Bähler will celebrate ten years of his company. In his workshop in Bienne an exhibition will take place to mark the occasion. /jse
