here is what awaits you on the platform in 2025

Prime Video wants to become an important player in the French cultural landscape. The platform has the firm intention of continuing its efforts in the creation of local content, of increasing collaborations with players on the small and big screen in France. Building on the success of certain French productions, on the territory and internationally, the company announces 13 programs which will take over its shelves in 2025. Original films and series, acquisitions and remakes, Prime Video has the ambition to become a must-have in the living room entertainment. For Christophe Deguine, Managing Director of Prime Video France for six months, these announcements demonstrate “a strong dynamic from Prime Video”. Here are the 13 contents that will arrive in 2025.

Original films

In 2021, Prime Video tried its hand at original production with Mélanie Laurent. The Madwoman’s Ball opened a new chapter in the history of the platform in France, on the side of the 7th art. Three years after this first attempt, Prime Video has multiplied projects of the genre. The company is not going to stop there, and several films are in development and filming. As usual, it is on the side of comedy and action that the firm concentrates its efforts.

McWalter

Inspired by Mister V’s YouTube format, McWalter is an opportunity for the videographer to continue the adventures of his hero. After eliminating a villain who threatened the earth, the secret agent can finally concentrate on mourning his companion Tracy, who died accidentally. But when a series of explosions rocks the planet, McWalter has no choice but to fight back. He is wrongly accused and must do everything possible to prove that he is innocent.

Produced by Les Films entre 2 et 4, McWalter is directed by Simon Astier. Yvick Letexier (Mister V), Vincent Tirel and Freddy Gladieux are writing the screenplay. The first obviously takes over the role of MacWalter, he faces Géraldine Nakache, William Lebghil, Vincent Dedienne and François Berléand. Filming is currently taking place in Bulgaria, the film should not hit our screens before the end of 2025.

A Marriage Without End

The success of Palm Springs did not fall on deaf ears. Nominated for the Golden Globes in 2021, the romantic comedy is about to see an adaptation in our green lands. Under the direction of Patrick Cassir (Our First Vacation), A Marriage Without End will follow the meeting of Louna and Paul. During a wedding in Morocco, the two heroes find themselves trapped in a time loop from which they cannot escape. What if they found, behind the absurdity of their situation, an unexpected chance to give meaning to their existence… and perhaps even to discover love? Tarek Boudali and Camille Rowe reprise the roles held by Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti in the original version.

Carjackers

Prime Video finds Gaumont Production, for an action and car film. Directed by Kamel Guemra, Carjackers offer to Franck Gastambide an opportunity to confront a new genre of score. More accustomed to comedies, the actor will play an antagonist in Carjackers. He plays a formidable hitman, hired by the management of a hotel to find a gang of robbers who are plaguing the hotel’s customers. Zoé Marchal, Bosh, Maréva Ranarivelo, Alassane Diong and Sérigne Gueye will be in the casting of this film which promises to be muscular.

Series in development and announced

Cult season 2

A few weeks before the release of Worship season 1Prime Video has already formalized the start of work on a sequel. After devoting six episodes to the birth of the Loft, it is Yaël Langmann who takes charge of the new vintage and who will tell the story 2Be3. The narration will tell the story of the formation of the group in 1996 and its rise to power. Namory Bakayoko, Antoine Simony and Marin Judas will respectively play Adel, Filip Nikolic and Frank Delay.

The New Romanceincluding erotic romance for young adults, is at the heart of the concerns of players in the audiovisual sector. Prime Video has already hatched a few English-language adaptations, from Maxton Hall has Beautiful Disasterthe American company understood that these bookstore successes were a niche on which it had to focus. Prime Video France wants to take its share of the pie and take over a popular universe. The platform will adapt Campus Driverwritten by CS Quill. In France, the work is published by Hugo Roman.

The returns of Black Hearts And Escort Boys

It is with Liars Club that the company hopes to promote its catalog. In co-production with Endemol, Liars Club will bring together five duos around a fool’s game.
