Justin Timberlake has reached a plea deal in his New York drunken driving arrest that shocked fans last June.

The 43-year-old singer was arrested by Sag Harbor police for DUI on June 18 — and the young cop who read him his rights had no idea who he was. Although he was initially charged with DUI and was charged with running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane, a new plea deal has reduced his charges.

According to TMZ, Justin Timberlake’s legal team successfully got his misdemeanor conviction reduced to a traffic violation, meaning he will no longer face drunk driving charges.

“The singer’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., and prosecutors have just obtained the judge’s approval in the DUI case. The DUI charge is officially dropped, and Justin will face the ‘Driving While Impaired’ charge,” the outlet reported Wednesday, September 11.

The deal will be finalized in court on Friday, September 13, where Timberlake will learn his final fate. He could still be fined up to $500.

When the Sexy Back singer was arrested in June, footage of his arrest shared online, showing him complaining that his arrest would affect “the tour,” sparked a social media storm. The arresting officer is seen asking, bemused, “What tour?” Timberlake replied, “The world tour,” as he was days away from the launch of The Forget Tomorrow, which will see him tour through June 2025.
