Montauban. A real resonance for 50 years of cultural initiatives

The Montauriol Park of the Departmental Council seemed the perfect venue on Friday evening for a landmark event. While there is always joy in music, it was necessary to open the green space to sensibilities from all walks of life in order to properly celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Tarn-et-Garonne Arts & Culture association. The public came in large numbers to launch the festivities and celebrate together these 50 years in the service of an emancipation whose aim is to support, develop and promote culture throughout the department, while respecting the cultural rights of all: “Our association’s mission is to inform, raise awareness and support local authorities, artists and cultural operators in the department, in particular by implementing training and engineering actions”, explains Jean-Marc Jouany, communications officer.

For fifty years, a dynamic team has contributed to the dissemination of artistic productions and the development of amateur practices, in disciplines such as music, dance, theater, circus or street arts, or even visual arts. With eyes wide open to this expanded hope that inspires partnerships and networking of cultural actors, there is relevance behind each scene in the actions carried out, in connection with actors in the educational, tourism and social sectors.

And to resonate

For this highly symbolic anniversary, based on half a century of successes, the association launched the September Resonances, with great fanfare, in support of two exceptional weekends: “This festival is organized by our association as part of the Talveraie cultural season”.

In the gardens of the Departmental Council, we came across Raffut and his tropical groove, as well as the Departmental Harmony Orchestra, which brought together around sixty musicians from the conservatory and music schools. We were also able to learn traditional Occitan dances.

“We are currently the leading programmer of live shows, driven by a certain agility to support culture,” explained the president Valérie Rabault. And added: “For the associative form to last, initiative and expertise are needed, I am very happy that a new door can open, tonight we have balm in our hearts.”
