A new record for Taylor Swift. The streaming platform Spotify announced, April 24, 2024, that the American singer’s latest album has accumulated more than a billion streams since its release a week ago. With this figure, The Tortured Poets Department becomes the most listened to album on Spotify in a week.

In February at the Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift made history by becoming the only artist to win the album of the year award for the fourth time. A critically acclaimed double album which had already become, on the day of its release, the most listened to in one day in the history of Spotify.

A global icon

This is the eleventh album, the fifth in five years, from the 34-year-old singer who has become an icon around the world and who has won over the French public in recent years. His world tour, “Eras Tour”, is expected to bring in a total of two billion dollars in revenue, after having already broken the symbolic ceiling of one billion last year – a historic first.
