The V and B cellar bar in Portet supports young talents from the scene by participating in the Tremplins V and B selections. Its team in fact hosted and financed the concerts of 6 groups and singers over 3 days, which it owes to present to decide for the rest of the events which will perhaps take one of these artists to the V and B Fest this summer. Two young singers opened the ball, we met them.

Jaarna is 27 years old. With her alternative pop and her beautiful voice, sometimes soaring, sometimes energetic, she is accompanied by a guitar or instrumental arrangements. “I started singing lessons when I was 6 years old, she explains, I have always played music. Since I was little, I always said that I wanted to make a living from music and not do that. I started writing and composing when I was 12, in very broken English at the time!” But it is in this language that she feels most comfortable expressing herself in music. “I think it’s because I mainly listened to English-speaking music. At 10 years old, I already had the curiosity to translate the songs I listened to.” For Jaarna, Tremplins V and B are simply “an opportunity to go on stage, to meet new people, but also to get outside opinions” on his work. With perhaps, at the end of the journey, the chance to play at the V and B festival.

Yffa is 29 years old. A singer and rapper, she is accompanied by her DJ and also has a beautiful repertoire of original compositions. Her rap tinged with soul, carried by her smile when she sings, offers us vibrant, even captivating music. “I have been rapping since the end of confinement,” she says, “I started writing at that time. I fell in love with rap in 2018 but I have always sung and loved the entertainment industry. and the arts in general. Born in Senegal where she practiced the djembe, she began performing at a very young age. After arriving in at the age of 7, Yffa had a self-taught relationship with music. For her, participating in Tremplins V and B, “it’s above all fun, connection.” This young rapper also hopes to expand her audience. She will also be on June 1st at the Weekend of Curiosities at the Bikini.
