Spring is lively on the side of the side of music Conservatory of Vitré. the 3rd edition of Rock connection, a brand new music festival will take place from May 14 to June 6, 2024.

On the program of this festival entitled The sensitive notediversity both in the music and in the places which will host the concerts.

Six concerts

Six performances are planned. Three concerts will take place at the cultural center and three others outside Vitré. “We wanted to relocate in order to cross the border of the cultural center,” notes Alexandra Lemerciervice-president in charge of culture at Vitré community.

The artists will perform at the cultural center ofArgentré-du-Plessis, at the Château des Bretonnières in Erbrée and even more surprising, in the middle of the AMI metallurgy factory in Torcé. “It will be a very original concert in a unique place. There will be 8 artists who will sing a cappella, it promises a good time,” explains Jennifer Blot-Meinierartistic director of this new festival.

Alexandra Lemercier continues: “We have a lot of ideas for concert venues. But, it’s a first edition, so we want to see how it goes. This bodes well for the future and we will try to grab some new places to be discovered in each edition. »

Varied styles

Apart from this concert, we will find blues, tango, extracts from musicals West Side Story or a brass concert with the orchestra of (ONB).

Very far from the classic style, as evoked Mantho Baka, director of the conservatory: “In fact, when we talk about classical, it’s more about the meeting of artists and the connection with teachers. We will have a wide variety of styles throughout the territory and we want to attract the whole family. »

The program

Tuesday May 14. At 8 p.m., at the Le Plessis Sévigné cultural center in Argentré-du-Plessis. Concert by Marion Rampal and Pierre-François Blanchard entitled Le Secret. “It’s a real bridge between classical and blues,” says Jennifer Blot-Meinier. To raise the curtain, the students of the conservatory will offer a performance.

Saturday May 18. At 8 p.m., at the AMI factory in Torcé. The In Paradisum choir will perform its Vocal Bestiary a cappella with eight singers. Please note, limited number of places.

Thursday May 23. At 8 p.m., at the Vitré cultural center. Concert called Poussière d’Etoile with a trio combining percussion, singing, electronic guitar… “It’s a great creation for this festival,” continues the artistic director.

Thursday May 30. At 8 p.m., at the Vitré cultural center. Five artists from the National Orchestra of Brittany (ONB) will perform in a major brass concert. “They are regulars of the place and they will play baroque music to the tunes of the comedy West Side Story.

Saturday June 1st. At 8 p.m., at the cultural center. Concert by the Wonderland duo which will cover tango tunes. “It’s very sensitive and it thrills us,” recalls Jennifer Blot-Meinier.

Thursday June 6. At 8 p.m., in Erbrée. Head to the bucolic setting of the Château des Bretonnières for the closing concert of the festival. In the first part, intimate jazz with the Cordeam duo and in the second part the Appel de Pan mixing theatrical creation and composition on the guitar and improvisation on the guitar.

Full price: €12, Reduced price: €6 (from 11 to 26 years old and job seekers). Free for children under 11. 3 concert pass: €24. 5 concert pass: €36. Ticket on sale at the tourist office and via the Vitré community website.
