The ADSB genealogy club, chaired by Beatrix Recorbet and led by Marielle Renucci, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, an exhibition “Return to the past”, a retrospective of real investigations carried out by members of the club, is offered at the castle, from Friday April 19 to Tuesday April 23 inclusive.

Through the fifty panels detailing these investigations, visitors are taken to take a leap into the past of their ancestors through family sagas or life journeys. They will learn about their sometimes difficult existences, with wars, revolutions, disasters and even plagues. They will also discover that the ancients moved around more than we think, which gave rise to eventful and sometimes adventurous lives.

To enhance this visit, three dictionaries, created by Marielle Renucci with the participation of club members, can be consulted on site. Dictionaries covering essential themes in genealogy: Our surnames, our roots, Professions and responsibilities of our ancestorsAnd The unusual first names of our ancestors. Documents resulting from phenomenal work and many hours of study.

Quiz for visitors

Throughout the exhibition, objects, documents, photographs linked to the panels will be the Source of lovely surprises. A quiz will also be offered to visitors, as well as crosswords for the bravest. Finally, a workshop room will allow, for those who wish, to carry out computer research, accompanied by genealogists. Note, for more precise explorations, the presence of Christiane Padovani, president of the History of Corsican families association whose headquarters is in , of François Castillo, genealogist at GAMT (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia Genealogy), and of Simone Pourprix, professional genealogist.

A visit to this exhibition is often synonymous with exciting discoveries which can inspire everyone to begin their own research. But be careful, in addition to discovering family histories, genealogy is often like a police investigation to which you become addicted!
