The Municipal Harmony of La Châtre extends its concerts throughout the region
Descriptive text here

The Municipal Harmony of La Châtre has imagined a new concept called “The Orchestra in the Walls”: a concert in another municipality. An idea to promote its three repertoires created over time with the different presidents who have succeeded one another, the official ceremonies, the orchestra and the entertainment music.

“We were victims of our success”

When she arrived fifteen years ago, Clothilde Loiseau, conductor of the group, kept these three repertoires. “We were victims of our success around entertainment music with many releases, we had to rebalance the orchestra side to reestablish the link with the municipal music school. We, harmony musicians, are the educational practice of this schoolrecalls Clothilde Loiseau. Harmony is not only about hosting weekend parties and ceremonies, it is above all an educational practice with a weekly rehearsal of two and a half hours which requires significant work from everyone. »

The New Year’s concert was well established, with an increasingly large audience each year, meaning that the La Châtre village hall was no longer large enough. The band had to review its organization, it had the idea of the Halle des Rouettes by postponing the date because of the temperature. The first edition which took place in May 2023 welcomed more than 600 people. “We had the idea of going to play once a year in a town before the big concert to attract people from elsewhere and then bring them to La Châtre. The idea is not to relocate municipal harmony but to have ambition to attract another audience, to shine, to promote our work, to make something else known. »
