An awareness campaign on vaccination against measles was organized on Thursday for the benefit of students at Lalla Meryem high school in Guelmim under the banner “Vaccination, a safe and effective means”.
This awareness campaign, organized as part of a partnership between the provincial delegation of health and social protection, the provincial directorate of National Education and local associations, is part of the national campaign of verification and catch-up vaccinations for children under 18, reports MAP.
During this awareness campaign, in which the regional director of health and social protection in Guelmim-Oued Noun, Ibrahim Bounan, and the director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training, Abdelmajid Sahl, took part, awareness sessions were provided on vaccination and the dangers of measles for the benefit of students in the different classes of this establishment, under the supervision of a team of doctors and nurses.
A workshop was also organized to raise awareness on the importance of vaccination against measles, which is one of the most contagious diseases.
-In a statement to MAP, Mr. Bounan indicated that this awareness campaign aims to raise awareness among students in different educational establishments of the importance of vaccination.
He added that this campaign is an opportunity for these students to participate in this catch-up vaccination campaign, in order to protect them against these diseases, noting that a team including medical and nursing staff was mobilized to ensure the success of this initiative.
For his part, Abdelkacem Aqbil, responsible for the provincial directorate of national education, stressed that this awareness campaign, which is part of the implementation of the provisions of a partnership agreement with the regional directorate of health and social protection, aims to raise awareness among students of the importance of vaccination against measles.
