Faced with overloaded emergencies, the Montauban hospital center triggers the White Plan

In order to face a very high activity in emergency departments due to winter epidemics which are prevalent throughout the territory, the Hospital center of Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) triggers its White plane. This device makes it possible to deprogram certain operations or to recall staff from leave.

The Montauban Hospital Center is currently experiencing very strong tensions on the availability of bedsin the same way as neighboring departments.

Increase hospitalization capacities

The establishment has alerted the ARS (Regional Health Agency) in recent weeks about this situation. In view of the difficulties that emergency departments encounter in hospitalizing patients in the departments, the decision was taken today to trigger the White Plan in order toadapt internal organizations and increase hospitalization capacities.

The reopening of additional beds has been recorded. A dedicated crisis unit has been activated and will carry out an evaluation of the system this Monday, January 13.

In order to reduce the pressure on the emergency department in the days to come, the Center
Montauban hospital invites the population to:

• Respect barrier gestures: wearing a mask, rubbing hydroalcoholic gel,
  distancing,
• Favor the use of the treating physician for care needs that do not fall under emergency medicine,
• Contact 116 117 for care that does not require a visit to the emergency room in case
  absence of the attending physician,
• Contact 15 in the event of a life-threatening emergency.
