Hospital: return of compulsory masks in Central

The fashion for surgical masks is making a comeback in all sites of the Center Bretagne Hospital Group (GHCB), since Monday, December 30, 2024. All patients, healthcare professionals and visitors will have to wear a mask as long as they enter the Kério hospital in Noyal-Pontivy, Kervénoaël hospital in Pontivy, and the hospitals of Loudéac, Plémet and Guémené-sur-Scorff, until further notice order.

Dealing with winter epidemics

This measure occurs in the context of an epidemic of flu and bronchiolitis in and throughout mainland . “The end-of-year holidays are conducive to the increased circulation of respiratory viruses such as influenza, covid-19 and the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Wearing a mask is an essential measure to limit the spread of these epidemics and preserve the health of all,” explains the group in a press release. It is one of the first Breton hospital groups to strictly rehabilitate the wearing of a mask in the face of an infectious episode, since covid. “It’s a preventative device. It will be maintained until the end of the epidemic period, based on information from Public Health France,” specifies the group.
