Rooms. The egg takes its tour of to the village school

This Friday, October 11, World Egg Day will be celebrated in unison across the globe! Hard, soft, poached, scrambled, fried, in sweet or savory recipes… The egg wows the French every day! True fans of this essential everyday food, each French person consumed on average 224 eggs in 2023, or 24 more than in 2013: a figure never reached in the last 20 years! To help young people discover the many virtues of this extraordinary food that they appreciate so much. : 91% of children like to eat eggs, they are returning to schools this Friday, October 11 on the occasion of this World Day! The French Egg Interprofession is launching a major information operation for schoolchildren throughout the country, in collaboration with the “Les Enfants Cuisinent” program, founded by the Chef who is very popular with children: Olivier Chaput. Since 2011, he has been raising awareness among children and young people aged 2 to 20 about “Eating good, Eating healthy”, by introducing food education in schools. To raise awareness of the role of eggs in a balanced diet, culinary workshops will be organized for CM1 and CM2 students. 10 schools from 10 departments will be involved in activities around eggs with a Chef partner of the “Children Cooking” program and in the presence of a professional from the sector to answer the questions asked. Objective: make scrambled eggs with the children and add various ingredients including regional products. Each student will be able to prepare their own scrambled egg and enjoy it! This Friday, this Tour de of schools will be in the Tarn at the Salles-sur-Cérou school from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. At the end of this workshop, an educational kit specially designed for children will be given to the students.
