The Video Game History Foundation (VGHF) has announced the launch of its digital library, which will be accessible to the public from January 30, 2025. This initiative will allow players, researchers and enthusiasts to familiarize themselves with the documents relating to the History of video games.

What we know

The VGHF digital library will include

  • Over 1500 rare and exhausted video game magazines.
  • Promotional equipment, press files and cult game illustrations.
  • Unpublished documents on the development of games, including conceptual drawings and internal documentation.

The Foundation, created in 2017, devotes itself to the preservation and promotion of the history of video games. The launch of the digital library is an important step to provide wide access to archive documents that were previously only available on physical supports.

This project will contribute to the research and understanding of the evolution of video games by giving access to documents which were previously inaccessible to a large audience.
