The Quebec Research Fund is renewing its support for the Quebec Research Network on Aging (RQRV), directed by Sylvie Belleville, professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal, for a period of eight years. This financing totals $9.45 million.

The RQRV aims to respond to the challenges and opportunities arising from demographic changes. He works to generate innovative solutions to improve the quality of life and health of seniors. Its mission is to support seniors in their desire to age according to their needs, preferences and aspirations, while promoting their health and quality of life. The Network develops innovative and collaborative research aimed at understanding aging in all its complexity, to improve the quality of life of older people and promote active, healthy and respectful aging.

“This renewal reaffirms the importance of research on aging in a changing social and demographic context. It recognizes the presence of a strong community of researchers committed to aging. It will enable the implementation of the RQRV’s priorities for world-class collaborative research and increased alignment with provincial policies and initiatives as well as with the needs of research user communities at the local and regional scale,” supports the Professor Belleville, at the head of the RQRV since May 16, 2023.
