At 8:40 p.m., firefighters urgently sent three ambulances. Seven people in the apartment felt unwell. The Smur intervened and emergency services diagnosed carbon monoxide poisoning, the famous C0, odorless and insidious with dramatic and potentially fatal consequences. A combustion of charcoal, poor ventilation of the apartment, the conditions were met for the formation of gas, undetectable without a device.

Five poisoned children

In the apartment, seven people had CO levels well above normal. A 47-year-old woman, a nine-year-old girl and five boys, aged 14, 10 and 4, had to be taken into care by the Smur and transported to the Girac hospital center by the firefighters. The victims were treated in the emergency room.

A precedent on January 4

This recklessness is not the first in the neighborhood. Already, on January 4, a family had organized a barbecue in an apartment on rue de Gergovie, in Bel-Air. Five people had to be transported to Girac, including three in a condition considered serious, in an absolute emergency.
