A 27-year-old hairdresser, Modou Diallo living in Labgar, in the department of Linguère, was sentenced to three months suspended by the Louga High Court for indecent assault, incitement to debauchery and corruption of youth.
After several marriage requests refused by the father of his girlfriend, C. Sarr, a 19-year-old girl, Diallo tried to force the union by locking her in his house for two days in order to make her pregnant.
C. Sarr’s parents, thinking he had disappeared, alerted the gendarmerie. During her hearing, the young girl claimed to have voluntarily gone to her boyfriend’s house out of love, declaring: “I love him, that’s why I agreed to sleep with him. My parents refuse our marriage. » In court, Modou Diallo admitted the facts, reiterating his desire to marry C. Sarr.
-The defense lawyer pleaded for leniency, stressing that the two young people love each other and want to get married. Despite this, the court applied the law and delivered its verdict, reports the Observer.
