Cardiovascular diseases: they are the “leading cause of mortality in the world, the second in after cancer”, notes the Ministry of Labor, Health, Solidarity and Families. They “remain the cause of around 140,000 deaths per year” in France. That’s 400 every day.

8 out of 10 accidents are preventable

But “eight out of ten cardiovascular accidents are preventable thanks to better information and early detection”, indicates the Intercommunal Hospital Center of the Southern Alps (Chicas). This is why the professionals of the health establishment are offering a conference on Thursday January 16, entitled “Brain attack, heart attack, arteritis: treating them and… avoiding them!”. To summarize, specialists will be available to inform and answer questions from the public.
