This second edition of colorectal cancer screening awareness will take place on Sunday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the sociocultural center. Organized by the city of Dieulouard in partnership with local associations and the Dieulouard Santé Primary Care Team (ESP), the event offers great entertainment and interventions from numerous health professionals.
A donation of €5 per person
The importance of screening for this disease, the second deadliest cancer in France, will be highlighted. A second preparatory meeting for this event took place this Wednesday in the town hall, in the presence of presidents of associations, elected officials, Alice, member of the Municipal Youth Council, the mayor, Henri Poirson and Magalie Halter, responsible of city communication.
“People wishing to participate in this day can already register at the town hall. A donation of €5 per person will be requested for all registrations. The total amount obtained will be donated to the League Against Cancer, for the benefit of research against colorectal cancer,” specifies Magalie Halter. A third meeting is planned before the big day.
Entertainment from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At 9 a.m., a welcome coffee and brioches will be offered to each participant at the socio-cultural center. At 9:30 a.m., musical warm-ups will be offered by Forever Danse, before the mayor’s welcome address. At 10 a.m., a 6 km hike supervised by volunteers from the Rando des Vals de Moselle et de l’Esch club will take walkers to the Notre-Dame-des-Airs site.
By 2024, one hundred and fifty people had participated in the hike.
At 12 p.m., entertainment and catering will await participants. Several associations will mobilize for lunch, such as the Dieulouard blood donors’ association, the Restos du coeur and Bo’Beau le coeur. Other associations and elected officials will take care of all the logistics such as the Friends of Chant and Rando à gogo MPTT.
The draw of a raffle before the donation is given to the League against Cancer will close this great mobilization, which will help save many lives.
